Right at the far end of the Glemm Valley, where the River Saalach rises, the path suddenly heads upwards: into the treetops and out onto a suspension bridge strung up to 42 metres above the valley floor. Since 2010, the Glemmtal Baumzipfelweg treetop trail has been one of the best-known attractions in the valley. According to the local tourist board, it is the highest treetop walkway in Europe.
From the Talschluss car park, a natural trail leads around two kilometres across alpine meadows and through the forest to the Lindlingalm, where the treetop trail begins. The Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps spans the head of the valley for 200 metres, with climbers from the High Ropes Park right beside and below it. Next comes a treetop walkway around 600 metres long, built from solid larch wood, which leads via stairs, towers and platforms up to 30 metres above the forest floor. Including the bridge, the trail is about one kilometre long. Up among the treetops are play stations focusing on dexterity, knowledge and nature, and the Baumzipfelweg is a stop on the Kids Hiking Challenge. Anyone who pays at the ticket office receives a Baumzipfel hat as a souvenir.
