The Location: Sunny Plateau on Haidweg with Slopes in Sight
The 4-star superior hotel is situated on a sunny plateau along Haidweg in Hinterglemm, elevated above the valley floor yet right in the center of the action. The Unterschwarzachbahn valley station and ski slope access are just 93 meters away. Ski buses, parking hassles, and carrying heavy gear are completely eliminated throughout your stay.
Getting to the center of Hinterglemm is just as effortless: the hotel’s own panoramic elevator takes you down comfortably and barrier-free for an evening stroll, après-ski, or heading to the ski school. Returning up is just as simple—even with a stroller, ski bags, or tired legs.
Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn: 270 km from Your Doorstep
The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn is one of the largest interconnected ski areas in Austria. From the Unterschwarzachbahn, you seamlessly connect directly into the entire slope and lift network.
With the Ski ALPIN CARD, your ski terrain expands to 408 kilometers of slopes. In addition to the Skicircus, the pass includes the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See and the snow-sure Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area in Kaprun. This is especially convenient during variable weather: if rain reaches the valley, premium snow is guaranteed on the glacier. No pass changes required—a single ticket opens all three regions.
The floodlit slope at the Unterschwarzachbahn is within easy walking distance of the hotel. If you feel like taking a few extra turns after dinner, you can reach the lift in minutes. The adjacent Nightpark is a favorite among freestylers and can also be enjoyed simply as a spectator from the hotel.
A winter holiday in Saalbach Hinterglemm works wonderfully even without skis. The Glemm Valley is scenic, easy to navigate, and exceptionally picturesque toward the valley head (Talschluss).
Few things feel better after a day on the slopes than immersing yourself in warm water while snow falls outside. At the JU-WELL Spa, enjoy panoramic pools with valley views, Finnish saunas, herbal steam baths, and quiet relaxation rooms where putting your phone aside comes naturally.
The sauna area is structured into an adults-only zone and a family zone to accommodate every guest's preference. A range of regenerative treatments is also available, from sports massages for tired ski legs to holistic wellness therapies.
The kitchen at Hotel Alpin Juwel relies on certified organic and regional produce. The day starts with a generous late-riser breakfast designed for those who prefer waking up without an alarm. In the afternoon, an alpine snack is served, followed by an evening multi-course menu that satisfies without feeling heavy—ideal fuel for hitting the 270 km of slopes the next morning.
Hotel Alpin Juwel is personally run by the Schwabl family. Alex Schwabl and his team know the Glemm Valley, its slopes, and its mountain huts firsthand. They are happy to share insider recommendations, from fresh-powder routes to the best sun-drenched afternoon terraces. Any questions regarding travel, ski passes, or ski schools are gladly answered in advance, not just at check-in.
